Harmonie Design Labs, SL (“Harmonie Design Labs”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on harmonielabs.com. This policy explains what those technologies are, which ones this website uses, why, and how you can control them.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more generally.
The short version
We do not use advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share visitor data with advertising networks.
We do use two non-essential services: website analytics, so that we can see which pages are read, and an embedded map on our contact page. Neither loads until you consent. You can decline both, change your mind at any time, and nothing on this site stops working if you do.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. It can be read back on a later page or a later visit. Cookies are used to keep you signed in, to remember a preference, or to recognise a returning visitor.
Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, pixels and scripts that read device information — can serve the same purposes. Where this policy says “cookies”, it covers those technologies too.
Cookies are commonly grouped by who sets them and how long they last. A first-party cookie is set by the website you are visiting; a third-party cookie is set by another organisation whose content is embedded in the page. A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser; a persistent cookie remains until it expires or you delete it.
Consent
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) Article 22.2 and the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) Section 25, cookies that are not strictly necessary may only be placed on your device with your prior consent.
When you first visit this site you are shown a consent notice. Nothing in the analytics or embedded-content categories is loaded before you make a choice. Declining is as easy as accepting, and a decline is remembered so that you are not asked repeatedly.
You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately for future page loads. Cookies already placed by a service you previously allowed can be removed through your browser, as described below.
We keep a record of the consent you give — the choice, the date and time, and the version of this policy in force — because data protection law requires us to be able to demonstrate that consent was obtained.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the website to function and for the security of the administration area. They are not used to track you and they do not require consent.
If you are simply reading this website, none of these cookies are set. They apply only to authorised staff signing in to manage the site.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
wordpress_logged_in_* | harmonielabs.com | Keeps an authenticated administrator signed in and identifies them to the system | First-party | Session, or 14 days if “remember me” is selected |
wp-settings-* | harmonielabs.com | Stores administration screen preferences for a signed-in user | First-party | 1 year |
wordpress_test_cookie | harmonielabs.com | Confirms that the browser accepts cookies before sign-in is attempted | First-party | Session |
Our hosting provider also maintains standard server logs and a caching layer. These record technical information such as the page requested, the time of the request and the IP address, for security, troubleshooting and performance. They are not cookies and do not store anything on your device.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to understand which pages are read, how visitors arrive at the site and which content is useful. We use it in aggregate — we are not trying to identify individual visitors, and we do not use it for advertising or remarketing.
Google Analytics is not loaded unless you consent. If you decline, no analytics cookie is set and no analytics data is collected from your visit.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | google-analytics.com | Stores a randomly generated identifier so that repeat visits can be counted as one visitor rather than several | Third-party | 2 years |
_ga_* | google-analytics.com | Maintains session state for this specific property | Third-party | 2 years |
How we have configured it. IP addresses are not stored. Advertising features, Google Signals and remarketing are switched off. Data sharing with other Google products and services is disabled. Data retention is set to the shortest period the service allows.
Where the data goes. Google may process this information on servers outside the European Economic Area. Google Ireland Limited acts as our data processor under a data processing agreement, and transfers outside the EEA are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Google’s own description of how it handles this data is in the Google Privacy Policy and its advertising and cookie documentation.
Opting out separately. In addition to declining here, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which prevents Google Analytics from collecting data on any website you visit.
Embedded content
Our contact page offers an embedded Google Maps view so that you can see where our office is. The map is provided by Google Ireland Limited.
The embed is not loaded unless you consent. Until you allow it, the page shows a placeholder and our address in text form. Declining has no effect on any other part of the site, and you can always view the same location by opening Google Maps directly.
When you allow the map to load, Google may set cookies on your device and receives your IP address, information about your browser and device, and — if you are signed in to a Google account — information associated with that account. Google uses this information for its own purposes, over which we have no control.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
NID | google.com | Stores preferences and other information for Google services, and is used by Google for security and abuse prevention | Third-party | Up to 6 months |
Google may set additional cookies through this embed. The current list is maintained by Google in its cookie documentation, and Google’s handling of the data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What we do not use
For clarity, this website does not use:
- Advertising, remarketing or conversion-tracking cookies
- Social media tracking pixels, including Meta, LinkedIn and X
- A tag manager
- Heat-mapping, session-recording or mouse-tracking tools
- Live chat or chatbot services
- Cross-site or cross-device profiling of any kind
- A/B testing or personalisation engines
Web fonts on this site are served from our own domain rather than from a third-party font service, so viewing our pages does not transmit your IP address to a font provider.
Our contact form, careers form and newsletter form do not set cookies. Information you submit through them is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Links to external websites, including our own profiles on third-party platforms, open a site with its own cookie practices. This policy does not cover them.
Managing cookies in your browser
Independently of the consent notice on this site, you can view, block and delete cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data
Blocking all cookies will not prevent you from reading this website. It may affect other websites you use.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no agreed industry standard for how websites should respond to browser Do Not Track signals, and we do not currently act on them. Because no non-essential cookie is set on this site without your explicit consent, and because we do not track visitors across other websites, the practical outcome is the same.
Where a Global Privacy Control signal is received, we treat it as a request to decline non-essential cookies.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the services used on the website change. If we add a service that sets non-essential cookies, we will update this page and obtain consent before that service is activated. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
